Easy Healthy Breakfast Recipes to Power Up Your Day

We’ve all heard it before.. breakfast is the most important meal of the day. It’s a tired saying, but holds a lot of truth.

After sleeping, your body should be refreshed, relaxed and ready for a new day. Following this with a super charger breakfast is ideal. The best recipes being the ones you can make in a few minutes and seriously enjoy.

Here are 4 of my favourite healthy breakfast ideas (which are all super customizeable) to start your morning with:

  • Chia Coconut Pudding
  • Green Super Smoothie
  • Healthy Granola
  • Chai Latte Oats

Chia Coconut Pudding

Let’s start with one of my current obsessions: Chia Coconut Pudding!

This light and creamy filling breakfast is ideal for those of you who a) live in a hot climate or b) want something to pack in the morning for later on in the day (my friend Christina from A Little Nomad and I always pack this for hiking!). 

Mix two tablespoons, or more, chia seeds into your bowl or container. Then fill it half way with coconut milk. Leave it to sit for a minimum of 1-2 hours to allow the chia seeds to expand – it’s best to leave overnight. Then, top it with whatever fruits and nuts you like or some additional sweetener such as honey or maple syrup. Strawberries, mango, walnuts and almonds work deliciously. 

This recipe is full of healthy fats, plant based protein and vitamins from the fruit. It’s also skin loving, body loving.

Chia seeds can get used up pretty quickly for these kind of recipes, so I recommend to get yourself a larger container of the Chia Co Chia Seeds to store in the cupboard!

Green Super Smoothie

Yes, you’re reading a healthy blog so I have to mention a green smoothie somewhere, right? 

The reason so many health nuts are fans of green smoothies, or smoothies for breakfast in particular, is because they are fairly easy on your digestive system first thing in the morning.

They can also reduce the amount your stomach must breakdown the food. Plus, you can pack them full of body-loving and skin-loving greens and superfoods such as kale, pea protein powder and chia seeds.

One crucial thing to remember with the word “smoothie” is that this does not only mean a blended drink full of sugary fruits, honey, sugar or ice cream (as many people believe here in Egypt…). Sure, they could taste great but they are not what your body needs first thing in the morning.

Green smoothie recipes should start with a base of healthy greens (think kale or spinach) with small additions of fruit (half a banana, a few cubes of frozen mango, 3/4 strawberries etc.).

To elevate your super green smoothie even further, add a serving of Pulsin Pea Protein Powder protein powder and some Super Greens Powder or Maca powder.

If you don’t like the taste of green smoothies, I highly recommend adding the juice of half a lemon and half a banana or a handful of frozen mango pieces.

Healthy Granola with Yoghurt or Almond Milk

Fresh out of the oven granola drizzled with cold almond milk is the stuff dreams are made of. 

This healthier version or traditionally sugar filled granola will satisfy body your tastebuds, your hunger levels and your blood sugar levels for the morning. Get the recipe here.

For a day where you have a little more time to cook your breakfast at home, granola is the way forward. It’s full of crunchy nuts, seeds and cinnamon plus some added coconut oil and honey.

You can also omit the oats to make it grain free. The honey can also be swapped out for agave or maple syrup for a 100% vegan healthy breakfast.

When I’m meal prepping, I like to make a large batch of this and store it in a jar to enjoy through the week. It also makes for a delicious snack after dinner as well as an easy healthy breakfast recipe.

Chai Latte Oats

Time for a little indulgence.

I don’t often eat oats except for in the winter, but when I do, I go all out. 

This healthy breakfast recipe is brought to life with the Drink Me Chai Spiced Chai Latte powder. Drinking it is delicious, but when added into oats, it created a creamy and a little spicy but sweet breakfast meal.

It’s delicious warm, but you can even make this with cold water and the rest of the ingredients to store in the fridge overnight and take with you to work the next morning as a super easy pre-prepared healthy breakfast recipe.
