Working Out VS An Active Lifestyle

Both of these terms are thrown around the health and fitness industry ALL the time. But what really is the difference? You’re working out, going to the gym after work… are you living a so-called ‘active lifestyle’?

An active lifestyle is, to me, a sustainable way of living that promotes good health and a healthy mind. Regular workouts, nourishing eating and less time spend sitting doing nothing. Maybe you walk to work rather than taking the car, or go for a walk on your lunch break rather than watching Netflix.

Personally, I’m a huge advocate for a healthy lifestyle. It doesn’t mean you have to be a proper gym bunny/ or gym bro but means your focusing on yourself and your own health. For yourself.

To live a healthy and active lifestyle is choosing ways of living that benefit your own health. Walk more, get outside, stop spending the day on the sofa. It’s really that simple. The smallest changes can make the biggest difference!

Although there is nothing wrong with ‘just working out’, creating an active lifestyle as opposed to a workout followed by a sedentary day is far more beneficial in the long term. It creates a routine you are more likely to stick to for a longer time as it involves a change of lifestyle rather than being a single part of your day. What are your thoughts?!
